Updated: Jun 3

Summer Reading is on at the Monroe County Public Library throughout June and July - encouraging reading as a lifelong habit, keeping kids' skills up over the summer break from school and drawing in reluctant readers with activities and programs. Mostly, though, it's just plain fun with programs, games and prizes to keep everyone engaged.
This year, each Library branch will have its own theme. You can explore the ones nearest to you - or go on a mini-adventure to a different branch!
In Key West, we'll Dive Into Reading
At Big Pine Key, we'll have Oceans of Fun
In Marathon, Summer Reading will take place Once Upon A Time
In Islamorada, Our Stories Fit Together
In Key Largo, we'll Read the Rainbow
Looking for recommended reads for kids, from toddlers to teenagers? You can find this year's Sunshine State Young Reader Awards nominees here.
All Monroe County Public Library programs are free. You do not have to have a Monroe County Public Library card to attend. Children younger than 10 must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver.
