Libby is the Library app where you can get eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines and more.

All you need is a Monroe County Public Library card. Here's how you can get started:

Download the Libby app

You can find the Libby app in the app stores for Google Play, Apple App Store, and the Amazon App Store. You can also use Libby with your computer browser: just go to libbyapp.com

Now you're ready to start borrowing! All you need from here is your library card number and your PIN.

Find the Library on Libby

Libby will ask you to find us. Here's a

tip: Search by ZIP code, NOT by our name (Monroe County Public Library). Why not? Well, it turns out there are 17 different states in the Union with a Monroe County. President James Monroe was apparently quite popular during the county-naming era. If you use the ZIP code, you will be sure to find us. Don't worry about which branch pops up – we share our Libby collection across the Keys, just like we do with our physical books and DVDs.

Log in to Libby

Now you can log in with your library card number – that's the 14-digit number printed beneath the bar code on your library card.

Enter that number with with NO SPACES.

Even if you have created a username for your library account, you still need the card number to log in with Libby.

Enter your PIN

Now you need to enter your PIN. Generally, the PIN is the last four digits of the phone number on your library account.

If you can't remember or you want to reset it, you can do that here.

Find a book

Now for the fun part! You can start browsing for what you want to read or listen to.

We have curated lists of books (in both print and audio formats), as well as filters to help you find your next great read/listen by format, genre, age group and more.

Check it out

Found something good? If it's available, you can borrow it right away.

If it's not available now, you can place a hold – you will be notified through the app when the book is available to borrow. You can even tell us you want to borrow it later.

Once you've borrowed a book, you can start reading or listening in the Libby app right on your device.

Or, if the eBook is available in the Kindle format (most are), you can read it that way.

Send to Kindle

Click on Read With Kindle, and you'll be automatically sent to Amazon. Log in to your account there and click Get Library Book and voila! Amazon will send the title to your device and/or Kindle app.
