For years, the Library has offered a Book Club In A Bag program for adults — and now kids and teens can join the fun.
You can browse the bags at each branch or online. You can request the bag you want and we'll send it to the location of your choosing.
Each bag contains 10 copies of the book, along with a Reader's Guide to help get the discussion going.
To simplify your experience using the Book Club in a Bag program, we
recommend designating a member of your book club to check out the
bag for your club and distribute the titles at your next book club
meeting. Then, after the discussion of that book, collect the copies and
return the bag to the nearest Monroe County Library branch.
Bags loan for an 8-week period and must be returned to the
Circulation Desk at any of the five locations of Monroe County Public
Library. Bags cannot be returned in the book drops. Copies of the book
club title cannot be returned individually by members of your group.
Bags will not be considered returned unless they contain all 10 copies
of the book club title and the Reader’s Guide. Replacement fees will be
charged to the library cardholder for any missing items up to a full
replacement cost of $150.
Please note: If this book club bag is checked out using a juvenile library card, the associated parent/caregiver account will be held responsible for any damage or loss to the bag.
We are excited to offer this service to our local book clubs and welcome
title suggestions for future book club bags.
