There are no grades or report cards in Summer Reading — but we did want to let you know how it's going, with a month still to go!

You can find schedules for Summer Reading programs at your local branch here:

Big Pine

So far, we've had visits from the SPCA and Miss Patty and Marine Lab and Do-Art Productions and more.

One highlight every year is the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Animal Farm. Farmer Jeanne & Farmer Aja visited the Big Pine Library on Thursday, June 25th! They brought Calypso the alligator, as well as a bearded dragon, an elongated tortoise, a hedgehog, and a nine-banded armadillo. Farmer Jeanne read a story about zookeepers and their various responsibilities. Afterwards, attendees were able to gently pet the animals (except the hedgehog) under Farmer Jeanne and Farmer Aja's supervision.

Farmer Jeanne and Farmer Aja will be visiting the Marathon branch on July 9 at 10:30 am and the Key West branch on August 1 at 11 am

We've also had visits at our branches the SPCA, Miss Patty and Do-Art Productions. And there's so much more to come!
