Reel Deal: A New Movie Club

Announcing a new club coming to the Key Largo Library! Are you a self-proclaimed film connoisseur? Craving social interactions with other folks who will hotly debate the merits of Ishtar? Then we have the club for you! Introducing Reel Deal, a monthly movie club where we screen and discuss a different feature film.

Each film will be introduced by our staff to give you context and trivia on what you're about to view (if you're a TCM viewer, you know what to expect). We will then have a pre-show containing trailers, newsreels, and shorts from the era to help you settle into the film's release timeframe. After the feature presentation, engage with us in a discussion about anything from why you loved the characterizations to how distracting that one particular wig was.

Each season of Reel Deal is tied to a theme, our inaugural one being "Through the Decades." Each month will focus on a different decade and genre, and we'll explore how the landscape of Hollywood changes with the times through these curated entries. Free popcorn and bottled water will be provided at each screening because what's a movie club without concessions?

So whether you're the type of movie fan that compulsively tells everyone about Viggo's toe when watching The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers or the type that thinks Weekend at Bernie's is the greatest film ever made, all are welcome!
