1893 – Judge Angel Delono died at Key West. He was born in Santiago de Cuba on December 16, 1824. He came to Key West in 1878, and he served as Monroe County Justice of the Peace and Judge.


1909 – R.G. Ross completed rebuilding the jetty in the Northwest Channel.


1914 – Dr. J.G. Campbell, surgeon dentist, was located in the Campbell Building at 617 Fleming St., Key West, telephone 389. His specialties were gold crowns, bridges, and plate work.


1966 – Monroe County Mayor Gerald Saunders and Key West Mayor Kermit Lewin cut the ribbon to open the new showroom for K-T Motors on Eaton Street.


1976 – Senator Lawton Chiles and Representative Dante Fascell reassured local officials that the Key West Post Office would remain an independent facility and retain its own postmark. Rumors had been spreading that Key West was slated to become a branch of the Miami Post Office.


2001 – Temporary buoys marked the outline of a Key West Marine Park proposed to run along the shore of the island from the southern end of Duval Street to the West Martello Tower. The project was a partnership between Reef Relief and the City of Key West.
