Introducing Analog Club at the Big Pine Library

In a world where our thumbs are constantly scrolling, and our eyes are glued to screens, when was the last time you sat down and just... created?

Between the pings of notifications and the endless stream of news, our brains rarely get a moment of true quiet. That’s why we are thrilled to announce a brand-new club at the Big Pine library designed to help you reclaim your focus: The Analog Club.

Why Analog?

Taking a break from digital consumption isn’t just about "unplugging"; it’s about what you plug into instead. Engaging in analog activities has been shown to:

  • Lower Stress: Repetitive, hands-on tasks can induce a flow state similar to meditation.

  • Improve Focus: By removing digital distractions, you give your brain the chance to concentrate on one single, rewarding task.

  • Foster Community: It’s a chance to meet neighbors and share a quiet, creative space.

What to Expect:

Every session will feature an hour-long mindful activity, whether it’s watercolor painting, journaling, a cozy reading hour, or even collaborative puzzles.

No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.

You are also more than welcome to bring your own quiet project (like knitting or sketching) and simply enjoy the atmosphere.

Join Us

  • When: First and last Friday of the month at 3:30 pm

  • Where: The Big Pine Library

  • Who: Open to all ages looking for a digital break.

Here's to cutting through the digital noise and turning up the creativity. See you at the library!
