Welcome
Thank you for joining the Monroe County Public Library. Your library card can be used at any of our five branches, as well as at our Lending Machines at Bernstein Park on Stock Island and the Murray Nelson Government Center in Key Largo.
Your New Card
Your library card is valid for two years and requires in-person renewal with photo ID.
Forgot your library card? You can use a photo ID to check out library materials.
The loan period for books is two weeks. The loan period for DVDs is one week. All materials renew automatically up to five times, unless another patron requests the item. We do not charge overdue fines. If an item is damaged or not returned, it will be marked lost. Unless it is paid for or replaced, you may be blocked from borrowing or using online services.
Connecting to the Library
To log in to your library account, your username is the number under the barcode on your library card (with no spaces). Your passcode or PIN is generally the last four digits of the phone number on your library account. If that doesn't work or you wish to change it, you can do so here.
You can search our online catalog for books, including eBooks and eAudiobooks, DVDs and many of our streaming films. Books and DVDs can be requested from any branch and held for pickup at any of our five branches. We also have three Pickup Lockers that are accessible after hours and on weekends - at the Key Largo Library, the Marathon Library and Bernstein Park.
If you are looking for a book or DVD that is not in our collection, we may be able to borrow it from another Florida library with Interlibrary Loan.
The Library's online calendar lists events at each branch, categorized by type and age group. To find out what is happening at your local branch, sign up for our email newsletters.
