1909 – The schooner Edward W. Mudock arrived from Rockport, Maine, with the last shipment of stone for the new jetty in the Northwest Channel.
1933 – The Fifth Annual Tourists Sight Seeing Guide issued by the Key West Citizen was ready for distribution. The guide was 12 pages with a map in the center.
1958 – Over 300 members of the Outdoor Writers Association of America were holding their annual convention at Key Colony Beach. The group participated in laying the cornerstone of the new Key Colony Beach Convention Center.
1960 – Teams from Naval Station Key West demonstrated the Navy’s latest anti-submarine warfare weapons for the visiting chief officers of navies from 10 South American countries.
1966 – State Senator John M. Spottswood signed a contract to buy the Casa Marina and La Concha hotels for an undisclosed price.
2015 – Preliminary estimates by Monroe County Property Appraiser Scott Russell showed a year-over-year increase of property values from $20 billion to $21.2 billion in unincorporated areas of the county.
