We are open again! Thank you all for your patience as we made improvements to the Library. Please stop by and check them out — and stand by for more in the near future, as we get ready to celebrate this historic building's 60th anniversary as part of the Monroe County Public Library system, in 2026.

Week of October 20

Almost there! Our plan is to open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week (October 22-24). We will NOT be open on Saturday, the 25th. We'll be back to our regular schedule starting Monday, Oct. 27.

Week of October 13

Great news! We've made a lot of progress and are getting our finishing touches done as well as putting everything back in its place. We are planning to open in the middle of next week - please check back here for updates before making a special trip!

Week of September 22

We made a lot of progress in our first full week of the refresh. The bookshelves from the front of the building (the original historic community house structure) have joined all the boxed books in our Community Room, the interior doors in that section have been painted dark blue. In the "main" library room, the Circulation Desk has been dismantled and the carpet will be replaced so it is consistent throughout the building.

You can find out about library programs in the community here. Questions? You can contact us online or call the Key Largo Library branch at 305-451-2396 or the Marathon Library branch at 305-743-5156. Both those branches have Pickup Lockers that are accesible 24/7 so you can request an item to be held there for you if you can't make it during our open hours.

Week of September 15

We're well underway with refreshing the Islamorada Library branch! The books are boxed and stored in the Community Room with the furniture and the walls are getting a coat of fresh paint.

We'll keep you updated on our progress here.
