1975 – A representative of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development met the mayor of Key West and toured Duval Street with him.

1999 – Key West City Clerk Josephine Parker died unexpectedly after collapsing at the dais just before the start of a commission meeting.

1935 – The Key West Aquarium was opened with a dedication ceremony attended by more than 500 celebrants.

1925 – The Navy took custody of Clinton Place at the entrance to Naval Station Key West and assumed maintenance of the monument.

1954 – After completing structural surveys, the Florida Road Department greenlighted 2,000 feet of fishing catwalks on bridges.

1960 – Students at Key West High School were dismissed for the day after a phone caller warned a bomb was set go off there at 2 p.m.

1995 – The statue of Henry “Booty” Singleton at the foot of Margaret Street was dedicated.

1964 – The Hemingway House opened as a museum dedicated to telling of the late author’s life in Key West.

1975 – The Oldest House on Duval Street officially opened as a museum.
