The Monroe County Library in Islamorada is named for Helen Wadley, a woman of inexhaustable energy who was a tireless community volunteer. A true &#8220;Friend of the Library&#8221; the library was dedicated to her and in 1986 it officially became the Helen Wadley Library.

		<description><![CDATA[The Key West Maritime Historical Society&#8217;s monthly meeting in February will feature attorney David Paul Horan, discussing salvage law, the Atocha case and others.
Horan will discuss how salvage law has changed in the last 35 years and relate the history of the salvage litigation in which he successfully defended the Mel Fisher Treasure Salvors against the state of Florida and others over the treasure recovered from the Spanish galleon Nuestra Senora de Atocha.  He will also talk about other salvage cases such as that of Titanic, El Cazador and Odyssey ...]]></description>

This year, One Island One Book is offering a special opportunity &#8212; a guided tour of Flagler&#8217;s Speedway to Sunshine, the special Over-Sea Railroad Centennial exhibit at the Key West Museum of Art &#38; History at the Custom House.
The Custom House exhibit features a re-created Florida East Coast railcar, a replica of a section of the Seven Mile Bridge, vintage footage of the journey from the Middle Keys to Key West and a film recounting Flagler’s story and the arrival of the first train.
