Strategic Plan for the Florida Keys

Posted Apr 6, 2017 Posted by One Comment

Did you have an opinion about your Keys community? Well, here’s an opportunity to express it.

The 5 public libraries in the Keys are governed and funded by Monroe County. Monroe County has begun to craft a new Strategic Plan to guide the County’s future policy and budget decisions.

The first important step in this process is to hear directly from the County’s citizens. What are your priorities, concerns and vision for the future of the County? What issues and infrastructure would you like to see your County government tackle in the next few years?

Please take a moment to submit this survey. Your opinion matters to us.

The biggest issue we seem to have during season is traffic. I don’t know what you can do, adding stop signs on the Old Highway does not help!

Perhaps Police controlling some of the lights on an as needed basis is a start. The lights in Key Largo and Big Pine can really snarl traffic.

If an officer was controlling them, he or she could assess the situation and adjust the light accordingly. Automatic traffic control devices cannot do that.

Other than that, I think you are doing a great job!
