How do I chane my password in Overdrive?
How do I change my password?
Hi Norma,
Thanks for the question. (Note to others with password issues, your OverDrive password=library account password=the last four digits of the phone number on your library account.) To change your OverDrive password, follow the instructions for changing your library account password here: http://www.keyslibraries.org/2010/new-library-catalog-debuts/
I just tried it and now both my old and new passwords work interchangeably–odd, but not unwelcome.

The check out period of 7 days is quite short. How does one renew? thank you – love overdrive !!
I’m disappointed with the new audiobook site–there are only 46 books available! All but one of the fiction titles are checked out. The old site didn’t have the newest books available, but they had a fairly large selection. Are there plans on increasing the number of titles available?
Hi Dixie,
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your concerns. To answer your question: yes, we will definitely be increasing the audio selections. I think we can all agree that our opening day collection is limited. But it will only expand from here! Please let us know of the titles you would like added. There is a “Suggest a Title” button on the far right of the OverDrive page. On the suggestion form, please indicate eAudiobook.
Thanks again,
Anne
Elynn, you can set 14 days as your preferred lending period. If you click the “My account” button at the digital library site, you’ll be prompted to log in and then offered a list of settings. You want the “lending periods,” which you can set to 14 days for ebooks and eaudiobooks.
You cannot renew in Overdrive; however when a title expires you can just download it again as long as nobody else has requested it.

How do i know which format is for the kindle.
Theresa, thank you for your question. I’m happy to report that our Kindle-compliant titles will be available next week! Check back then and you’ll see all sorts of helpful instructions to get you started.
Thanks again!

Hi Anne
I have two ebooks that I am on the waiting list for. If I log in and check lists nothing shows up. Is there a way I can check out where I am on the waiting list?
Joe
Hi Joe,
Thank you for your question. Try this:
Go to http://estuff.keyslibraries.org
Click My Account in the green navigation bar
Log in with your library card number and PIN
Click My Waiting List
Here you should see the ebooks on your waiting list and your position in each waiting list. Please contact me at anner@keyslibraries.org if this isn’t working for you.
Thanks again,
Anne
I don’t have an e-account. How do I create one? I tried the last 4 digits of my phone but it doesn’t work.
Hi Carl,
If you have a valid Monroe County Library account, you already have an e-account. Your username is your library card number and the PIN is the last four digits of the phone number you gave us when you registered as a patron. If you’re having problems logging on, your best bet is to contact your branch and check the status on your library account.
Thanks,
Nan
Is there a way to ‘return’ an ebook or MP3 download when we are finished with it but our check out time is not yet up.
You can return an ebook — how you do it it depends on the device type. You can email me at klingener-nan@monroecounty-fl.gov, let me know what kind of ereader you have and I’ll send you the instructions for that. Here are Overdrive’s instructions for returning an MP3 audiobook — you cannot return a WMV (windows media file) eaudiobook at this point: http://help.overdrive.com/article/0624/How-to-return-a-borrowed-MP3-audiobook-using-OverDrive-Media-Console-for-Windows
Please add to the audio ebooks. This is too limited for the amount of people who are interested!
Can I purchase e-books at amazon as gifts for the KL library? If so, what e-mail address would I use for the library.
Hi Bette,
Thank you for your question–and your generosity! It is not possible to donate an eBook to the library via Amazon at this time. The KL Library folks are happy to speak with you about other options, such as a cash donation directed towards our eBook collection.
Also, please see the information here about our affiliate program: http://www.keyslibraries.org/2012/you-shop-and-the-library-wins/ When you shop via the links, the library receives credit towards eBook purchases.
Thanks again for thinking of us!
Best wishes,
Anne
Hi Marie,
Thank you taking the time to write about the eAudiobook collection. We’d love to hear more about which titles or genres you want to hear. Look for the “Suggest a Title” link on the far-right from the http://estuff.keyslibraries.org site, or click here: http://www.keyslibraries.org/books-more/suggest/
Thanks again,
Anne
Are your ebooks compatible with a Nook?
Hi Kathy,
Yes, they are — you need to download a program called Adobe Digital Editions onto your computer. You download an Adobe ePub book from our Overdrive site, then transfer it to your Nook using Digital Editions. If you have questions or would like a step-by-step guide or links to online tutorials, please feel free to stop by or call the Key West Library at 292-3595 or email me at klingener-nan@monroecounty-fl.gov
Great service from Key West library. 2 very nice gentlemen at the circulations counter gave me instructions how to download an ebook. When I tried to do it there was an issue with my card. I phoned the library at 5.45pm on Saturday and a lady very patiently checked my account and fixed the issue. I’m very happy with my 2 ebooks downloaded to my tablet for my flight to Ireland tomorrow. Thank you to all the staff in this great library!
