We will never use your email address for anything but to notify you about books and materials that you’ve checked out or requested from the library.

My response is not directly to the change of address of the notification service (hard to have too much reaction to that) but rather to this insanely horrible, shallow, superficial and trashy website. A library (or library system) website needs only to serve some very limited functions, but to serve them supremely well. The old site covered the functions, granted not all of them supremely well, but at least adequately, in my judgement.
This pathetic piece of sugar puff pasty is nothing but the usual internet dreck being allowed, once again, to float to the top, instead of being filtered and discarded at or near its source.
That would be disgusting enough, but only a major irritant, if the functionalities were intact or, incredibly enough, improved. The functionalities, however, of which we can probably all agree searching is foremost, are nearly totally dysfunctional, particularly the most important, the search. It is STUNNINGLY bad. I will say no more as I hope to be able to take some more focused and directed action to do something about this, but if we were in Miami, I would suppose that someone in software services at the county has a cousin who vends library software.
What a joke!!! T.N. May, Big Pine Key
My goodness! Have you tried looking beyond the basic search at the advanced search options? (Choose “More Search Options” then click on “Open Search Options”).
Why not provide some constructive criticism and explain WHY you are having trouble with the search function so the staff can work on improving it, rather than going on a rude and whiny tyrade?
Wow, the above comment was rough. I have no idea how you could define the library’s website as trashy. I think that this website is great and very helpful. It’s very user friendly and for a small library system, they do a fantastic job!!! The librarians in Key Largo are excellent, they know me by name and have my books waiting when I walk through the door. I also appreciate the email and text feature that lets you know your items are ready. Keep up the good job libraries!!!!
