State funding for libraries is in jeopardy. Our local allocation has steadily decreased over the past few years, but now the entire program may be gutted. To make matters worse, if the Florida legislature cuts the State Aid to Libraries program, our state will become ineligible for the federal funding that we have used for local projects, such as digitization of our historical photographs and literacy training for hospitality workers. With tools to help you search for a new job, resources to help your kids with their homework and, of course, books to expand the horizons of your dreams – it’s all free at your library. Celebrate National Library Week, April 10-16, and create your own story @ your library. So, how DO you celebrate National Library Week?

Get your library card, then check out lots of books …

Develop and promote Teen programs! Plan for guest speakers, talent shows, and stand up comedy, poetry slams, and dances. Teens will also make recommendations for new materials for collection development like graphic novels and movie selections. Teens will get to participate in providing positive support for clubs such as Gaming Club, Chess Club, Anime Club, Sewing Club, Art Club, and best of all: Book Clubs!
*Check with your guidance counselor to see if you can earn community service credit!!!
Meetings are held on Fridays @ 4:30 in the Teen Room
