Inter-Library Loan

A card catalog with one drawer pulled out

If you would like to borrow a book or DVD that our Library does not have available for checkout, you can request it from another Florida library, online through our library catalog. The Inter-Library Loan department will make every effort to obtain the item from another Florida library.

Inter-Library loan requests are limited to 6 outstanding requests at a time to library members with no items currently overdue and no excessive fees.

A few notes about Inter-Library Loan: Most libraries will not loan new books or DVDs (less than 12 months since publication date) or popular materials to other libraries. Genealogy materials, popular DVDs, and audiobooks are seldom loaned.

To get started:

Open this page and select Library of Congress from the “Using” drop-down menu. For best results, search by keyword with a combination of title and author. (Click the “Add to Pending Results” button to retrieve all the matching records.)

Click on your desired book or DVD from the results list. Confirm this is the item you want, then click “Request This.” You will be prompted to log in with your username and password. (By default, your username is the 14-digit number on the back of your library card and your password is the last 4 digits of the primary phone number on your library account.)

Choose your Pickup Library and click Submit Request. Read the confirmation message and click Continue. You will now see the progress of your request from your My Account page.

If your book is not located in the Library of Congress database, please submit this form.

If you have questions or difficulties with your request, library staff can help. Contact your local branch or email info@keyslibraries.org.
